our story
how healing access came to be!
healing access was formed because from erin's own frustration with trying to navigate health issues. as an 11 year old seeking information on a skin condition nobody seemed to fully understand, erin struggled struggled to find clear, reliable information and often felt lost between scattered explanations and medical language that didn’t feel accessible. terms like "hydrocolloids" and "hyperkeratosis" were thrown around without proper explanations, and every "good" skincare item felt stuck behind a paywall. that experience made it clear how difficult it can be to understand your own health, especially at a young age. it is exactly what inspired the creation of an organization that makes healthcare topics easier to understand and more relatable for students, while also giving back to communities to help reduce the lack of accessibility for all.
