déjà vu
Erin Kim
everyday feels like a never-ending loop
stuck
in the same cycle,
in the same rhythm
again // again // again.
she sees herself going through
the same places,
the same faces,
no way out.
today?
or yesterday?
or was it tomorrow?
each day,
the same voices, the same words.
pieces of conversation that fade
playing back like a scratched record
again // again // again.
she thinks,
this time she’ll change something.
something small,
something different,
just enough to break free.
but it snaps back
//again//
and she’s there,
she’s here.
repeating,
watching herself
in the same places,
in the same cycle,
again // again // again.
the days aren’t slow,
they’re, fast,
gone,
months vanish,
then years.
the future
i thought was mine to hold?
been there,
done that
she blinks,
and shes here again.
everyday feels like a never-ending loop
